Trail Repair
April 11th, 12:30-3pm
Afterparty, 3-4pm

Register here by April 1st

  • What will I be doing?

Our FMST Eno River section is focused on building and maintenance of the Durham and Eno River State Park sections of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail. In order to keep the trail in good shape we walk the trail frequently and have identified a portion of the Laurel Bluffs Trail in Durham County at Eno River State Park as one of the segments of the trail most in need of repair. The trail has been damaged by erosion over the years, and we need to add rock and soil in order to repair the trail. The work will involve moving and placing rock and soil by wheel barrow and soil.

  • Where do I go?

We will be meeting at 4023 Rivermont Road in Durham and walking to the work site from there.

  • Where can I park?

Parking is available at 4023 Rivermont Road. There is enough parking, but carpooling is recommended.

  • What should I bring/wear?

volunteers should bring a filled reusable water bottle, and wear boots or solid shoes and work clothes. Volunteers should also bring a camping chair or ground blanket for the afterparty!

  • What will be provided by the host?

All tools will be provided and work gloves will be made available, however, if team members want to bring their own work gloves, that is great!

  • What if it rains?

This is a rain or shine event. In the case of inclement weather, the workday will resume the following day, Fri. April 12, 12:30-3pm.

  • Any more questions?

Contact your team representative for any questions leading up to the event.

Friends of the Mountains-To-Sea Trail (FMST) is the growing community of members and volunteers who support the trail, an official unit of the North Carolina State Park System. They work statewide building and maintaining trail, encouraging communities to create new sections of trail, and helping people hike it. You can get involved and help support the trail.

Engagement Opportunities:

Volunteer events are scheduled throughout the year, and are posted on the FMST web site. Ask about ways to get involved during your volunteer project!
