Why NC Climate Week?
Accelerating the adoption of climate solutions
You’ve heard it many times now – Climate Change is the defining issue of our time. Heat waves, failing crops, and extreme weather events are here. The impacts to individuals, communities, and the economy are growing globally and locally.
To mitigate the worst impacts of climate change, the United Nations has called for a 45% reduction in global greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2050. This underscores the pressing need for immediate action.
The solutions are available, and large-scale adoption of these solutions is needed now. Everyone is required in the transition to carbon neutrality. Businesses must make swift reductions in carbon emissions. Governments must enact policies that make climate solutions accessible and easily adopted. Individuals must make climate conscious decisions a part of daily life. The challenge lies in creating a bridge between awareness and action.
