Habitat Restoration
April 11th, 12:30-3pm
Afterparty, 3-4pm

Register here by April 1st

  • What will I be doing?

NCWF and corporate volunteers will be re-wilding an embankment next to the Third Fork Creek in the Woodcroft neighborhood of Durham. During the workday, we will remove Chinese Privet, an invasive shrub known for overcrowding native plants. Volunteers will also restore the habitat to its original state by planting native plants beneficial to pollinators and other wildlife.

  • Where do I go?

Woodcroft School, 1307 W Woodcroft Pkwy, Durham, NC 27713

  • Where can I park?

Parking at the school during school hours is prohibited. Volunteers will park in the nearby shopping center at the Triangle Ace Hardware at 4711 Hope Valley Rd #1J, Durham, NC 27707. We will meet on the side of the Ace Hardware in the parking lot before taking a short walk to the school.

  • What should I bring/wear?

Volunteers should bring a reusable water bottle, hat, sunscreen, and bug spray. Volunteers should also bring a camping chair or ground blanket for the afterparty as seating will be limited!

  • What will be provided by the host?

Gardening tools will be provided. However, if volunteers have their own loppers or work gloves, we encourage them to bring them.

  • What if it rains?

This is a rain or shine event. In the case of inclement weather, the workday will resume the following day, Fri. April 12, 12:30-3pm.

  • Any more questions?

Contact your team representative for any questions leading up to the event. For day-of questions, please contact Seana Finn. Email: seana@ncwf.org |  Day-Of Phone: 845-423-9870
